Fund Bank Savings Protection (Fobaproa) was a contingency fund created in 1990 by the Mexican government to deal with potential financial problems extraordinary. In December 1998, was replaced by IPAB, the Institute for the Protection of Bank Savings.
With a history of successive economic crisis, among other things, led to a lack of liquidity in the banking system, was created in 1990 Fobaproa.
